late on posting these pics
our time with grandma mimi and papa julio
we had a nice and relaxing time with them
it was the longest they ever stayed at our fun house and they were probably ready to leave days after they arrived.

we had a visit to the zoo
where Grandma mimi always buys us a zoo pass
it is one of the best gifts for us

Another injury on Jonah's list!

not quite sure what the 2 older boys were doing but just horsing around in our laudry room.  

All of a sudden I hear Jonah screaming like he was dying.  

Now if you know Jonah and the drama he is good at I thought he about broke an arm or somrthing

We always talk about the boy who cried wolf with him and

I just finished scolding him for over reacting a bit until I saw blood running down his head and through his hands

oh, I am sorry I said....

Let me tell you how terrible I am at wounds

I say all the wrong stuff

wow...you have like a hole in your head and I can see the meat

I think we better call daddy at work

I think I have to take you in

Sure enough daddy does these things so much better.

Off to the walk in for some of these 

the cut was about an inch or more 

and I was so glad they used staples not stitches

I wasn't ready for the drama of the stitches going in.

my  good friend was our nurse

Jonah did great and 

thanks to the Dr. and Rachel for the care

he is good to go

this particular night after dinner
he never stopped eating
he ate a great dinner
an hour later
ate 4 bananas
1 apple
2 cups of yogurt
10 pretzel rods
1 piece of a leftover chicken breast
and  2 cups of grapes all before 8 pm

do you just keep feeding these kids as they get older?

We just got home late last night from a great little gifted break

                                  Olivia had saved $5 from various things
                     she took it with us to some rummage sales 
                             and this is what she purchased
            She pretty much wore it for 2 weeks doing everything in it.
                                            she loves it!

I went through and cut strips of some old fabric I had.

                  I tied the fabric in knots on some twine.            
               tying the fabric on a piece of twine in knots

                         it's the easiest thing to do

looks perfect in the laundry room
and the kiddos loved it.

our kiddos love to jump rope too.

                  the boys go up a few blocks trying to get to 100 jumps without stopping

great exercise and they love it 
this time they collapsed in the neighbors yard though! 
i tried to capture it with the camera....

 this is why I love summer.....
when the kiddos are home with me all day
hanging out
doing crafts
lounging all day
playing in the pool or sprinkler
building legos for hours
reading stories together
drawing and painting
baking for others
snacking all day
bickering between siblings all day
wet pool feet walking through the house all day
crabby kids from being exhausted 
and getting up at 5:15 every morning
late nights
daydreaming
 Life is good!

found this for $1 at a rummage sale and held onto it for a few years

 

took out the mirror and painted that with some old chalkboard paint I had downstairs

sorry forgot to take a picture of that....

then I  painted the frame with Valspar sea blue paint

I love it!

Father's Day Camping 
We always go camping with friends and my family for Father's Day 
we had a great time.
the kids are always so sad to go home though
the time together goes so fast
and we don't get to see each other often
thanks for the fun memories!

the reason there is conflict in your marriage because 
 your spouse better be doing these things
why you have conflict at work because the world is about

how dare they not give you the honor your due
the more the world is about you the more angry and tired you will be
 and the more it's not about you how  free you are
ultimately when I am at home, my  marriage is about Jesus Christ
there is mercy, forgiveness, grace, patience
if my marriage is not about Jesus Christ and about me there is expectations

what point are you like, lord are you serious
I'm doing your work
that is possible because his righteousness was a foreign righteousness
it wasn't his own
it was given to him in Jesus Christ

because of god's resurrection
he sees me as

 holy,
god owns the glory

your way is a way
it is not the way
god ...is for you
loves you
shepherds you
but do it to make much of himself and for his glory
god is about god
we are infinitely guilty but Christ has made a way
god is not in love with some future version of you
it's not you when you get your act together
there is no sin in your life, past present or future that has more power than the cross of Jesus Christ
there is not a wound that he can't heal
if you are hell bent to hold onto that hurt and bitterness
you will get the fruit of that poison

they were so excited to see what they got
all the swimsuits and clothes fit perfect and they were so thankful.
