Loving our school year so far. 

 Gabriel and Abraham are doing a new Language Arts program.

 Not going to lie it was very expensive, but we love it.  They wake up and ask to do it right away in the morning.

Which is fantastic.

Otherwise still doing Heart of Dakota. 

Heavy reading program but we all love to read in this house.

Typically, we school everywhere in the house and everyone reports back to me kind of thing.

this year we're on the living room floor right now and it's working great.

September is the craziest month for us.  

We have something every night including weekends and a couple nights a week we have 4 different sporting events going on, but we make it work and love it!

The kids are still playing games twice a week with the seniors and doing puzzles.  

They have the best stories!

It's usually dark when we wake up.

We attack the day..sometimes with more enthusiasm than others.

We always have a clear routine.

And its' working for us and we are so thankful.

Time for me to brag a little which I never do!

Jeremiah we are so proud of you!  You tried a position you never wanted to play and gave it your best and loved it. 

The best thing of all was being able to play side by side with your brother in a varsity game..The love you have for each other is truly amazing.

Jonah..wow I am super proud of you just being you.  The humble guy we raised you to be.  Love that you wear your faith on your sleeve (always) and you never are afraid to stand up for what's right. 

When as a Christian we are always swimming upstream.  You hold people accountable for their words and actions even if it means you get picked on.  Keep loving on the underdogs and teaching them how to love like Jesus.

I am truly blessed that I am able to homeschool you guys and pour my heart and soul into teaching you  too love like Jesus.

You never cared what people thought of you and  

most of all you love like Jesus in all things.

Even more awarding were the words your coaches spoke when presenting your awards about you impact to the team players. How you were a role model on and off the field not only leading them as young men in playing football, but in leading them spiritually and supporting them all. 

As the coaches said, "He doesn't want to win any of these awards, but he deserves them." I know these are just awards and they mean to nothing to Jesus and our eternal life, but your Dad and I are so proud of the work God is doing in you just living for Jesus. Your example to others is in showing God's love for others through you

Olivia we love your energy on the floor.  It brings back so many memories for me.  Love that you pour your heart into it.  You always have a great attitude no matter what and you never let anyone else bring you down.  Keep staying strong and being the joyful person you are.

What a blast we had this fall.  So many fun heart racing games to watch.

So thankful we have this opportunity.

Everyone did a great job and we are so proud of them.

 
when you stand for God you don't have to fear what people can do to you at the lowest point in your life, it can be the greatest starting point for the greater things God wants to do.

Not every day is rainbows and unicorns at our house.  We have been schooling a few months now and it's going great. Sometimes schooling looks like life at our house. We seem to finish by 11 and then do spelling, devotionals and maybe writing in the afternoon.  Every component of our homeschool is impacted by the presence of little people who need love from mama too.  

Flexibility is key here- when I get frustrated by the daily juggle of bigs and littles (and I do), I have to remind myself: you are where you are, and God meets you right there

The kids have been serving each other a lot lately which just makes me smile.  

All on their own.  

No prompting.

Gabe is a hoot at home to school

never questions what I'm telling him to do

snuggling on the couch for quiet time

researching things

trying new foods

very chatty

getting distracted easily

lots of hugs

                     So being plant based for so long we have regular go to meals we make.  Every Sunday we do meal prep.  This meal we make all from scratch and we eat these for lunch and sometimes dinner every single day.  Feeds 4 of us well and we all love it!

Schooling along with the door and windows open is my kind of schooling...

Abraham is loving school with his favorite teacher...thanks for loving him sooo much Mrs. Steffes!
