Love

Abraham's hair seems to be getting curlier as he gets older.  It's so darn cute.  Can't believe he's almost 2. It's gone too fast. We can't get enough of this guy.

blessings from neighbors..

Postcards and goodies from our pen pals.  We have many pen pals from all over the world and it's so fun to see what they write about.  We have some from Canada and South America and some that are always traveling to places like Switzerland and Italy.  It's so fascinating writing each other and learning about each other's families.

Seriously...we can never get enough of this little star.....

When babies are naked in this house...this is what happens.  Everybody loves to wrap them in blankets and carry them around like a sack of potatoes.

This guy is always sitting next to you when you're eating.  Opening his mouth and ready to dive in.  He's the best eater in the house!

I almost ate the whole batch of these yummy mouth watering zucchini pancakes.   So so good and healthy for you!

One of Jonah's favorite movies is Woodlawn.  Loves Tony Nathan....quite a humble guy.

Our festival finds...Miah thoroughly enjoyed cooking the steak!

I had  a bit of a stomach bug this week.  Not sure where it came from but it was not a fun feeling every time I ate something.  So I kind of read more and didn't really care about the kid's lists and what we needed to get done.

By the weekend I was feeling great.  It was beautiful and we were even blessed with a gentle warm rain.  We did yard work, did 2 nights of concrete camping and played some wicked games of dodgeball and volleyball.

We had fun making 3 meals for some families going through some things right now.  So it's always fun to brighten someone's day by just loving on them.

Get out and enjoy the sunshine!

AWANA
The kids had another great year with awesome leaders. Such a great experience for them all. This was Jonah's last year in it and will now go into their youth group.  This last year was crazy awesome for him.  He made goals and met everyone and then some. He did 156 versus in 8 months. They tried to get him to do another 56 in 3 weeks but he wasn't even going to try.

Jeremiah did 52 verses in 8 months and had a blast.

Olivia did 52 verses as well in 8 months and had so much fun with her friends.

So thankful for this awesome group.

Hope you are having a great Monday!

the results are in

Jeremiah has been having a lot of similar symptoms that Odin had these past 6 months.  The testing is expensive and is not covered by insurance.  So we kind of had to wait until we could pay for it ourselves.
6 viles of blood later and we have results.  He's allergic to more things than Odin and of course it's things he loves.  It always seems to work out that way.
Sweet potato, white potato, chicken, apple, egg yolk, peas, any kind of sugar, msg, HFCS, polysorbate 80, gluten, and milk. So Monday we started.  Let me tell you...it's so hard sometimes to take it all away.  We are going to try a 4 day rotation first and see how that goes.  We did the same with Odin and it worked great.  This may take awhile for Jeremiah since he loves to eat!

Say a prayer for us please!

growing

Not sure what's going on at the Funk house but everyone is growing and I can't believe how much they eat.  Everybody always says that but you never understand until you're in it.  It's crazy good and fun at the same time.  I love being home with all my stars all day and prepping them, training them, teaching them and most of all loving on them and talking through life.

When you focus on living only in the grace of this moment is exactly when you get the grace of a momentous life. Live in the moment-and you get a momentous life.

Love these conversations that come up.  Whatever is tugging on their hearts or whatever they have questions about.

Being able to be there for them all day and talk through things is truly a gift.

Just for fun I kept track of what we eat in a week just of fruit.  This is only 3 kids eating this and Dave and I are a small portion of it.  Seriously like a quarter of it.
I usually have fruits and veggies out all day so they can much when they are hungry.

5 oval watermelons...BIG
(2 in one day..they were sooo good)
4 cantaloupe
9 lbs of grapes
1 pineapple
12 lbs of strawberries
42 pink lady apples
6 bananas

We are so thankful and blessed!
Have a wonderful Monday!

pasta, new books, state capitol

The kids have been on me to use the noodle press I have for years now but never took the time.  Noodle making is a time consuming process.  It took all day but they were worth the wait.  Jonah made ravioli and Olivia made linguini and spaghetti.  Everything turned out great and ooohhh so yummy.

We took a home school field trip to the State capitol.  So many types of marble...who knew?  We packed lunch and ate on the grass.  Beautiful day outside.
It brought back many memories walking around the place holding my signs up fighting against abortion.

Olivia's last cake decorating class.  Thanks to the awesome teachers. They all did a great job and loved it.

This is what it looks like at our house during the NFL draft.  The boys had so much fun listening and watching it all go down.Jonah even got a phone call call from TJ Watt excitedly joining the Steeler Nation!

We were able to stop and visit our good friend Alice in Madison.  What a beautiful view from her office.  Thanks for the tour and for all the snacks for the road.

We just got Odin's high school curriculum which was so exciting.  I'm not sure he would agree but it was like Christmas.  Fresh smell of new books, psychics and chemistry sets and 32 books to read. Just have to get our Spanish, Math, Writing and Language arts stuff yet.  I love home schooling...it is a lot of patience and grace over and over but well worth it and you gain awesome relationships with your children!!

Grace holds you when everything else falls apart — and whispers that everything is really falling together.”

I'm  so excited for next year...can you tell...

Last day of school ice cream for breakfast..

This little star decided to play in the rice instead.

Olivia was learning all the different papela on the tongue and what tastes should go where.  It was funny because she barely changed face expressions when I added different things to her tongue especially the vinegar.  It was a fun experiment.  My stars love experiments.  There is always something to learn!

Hope you are off to a great week and enjoy the sunshine!

Odds and Ends

Olivia's diving into the respiratory system for school right now.  She found it fascinating what our bodies can all do.

busted...he's telling his buddies on the walkie talkie about some goodies he just found

Jonah, Olivia and Jeremiah's AWANA grand prix cars they made with Mr. Brown.  Thank you so much for taking the time to do this with them.  They had a great time and enjoyed every minute of it.

Worked on a project....Odin wanted to help too.

Happy happy happy...love this happy place!

Thank you for the  gift card and the night off from cooking!  We sooo appreciated it.

Bird feeders out and the kiddos couldn't be more excited. You say birdies to Abraham and he runs for the couch. They love watching the birds and the crazy squirrels getting the leftovers.

Our kiddos love to make cards for people. They are into a spring theme right now. Love their hearts!

Chocolate chip cookie deliveries were made--sharing the love these past few weeks.  I
think the last few months for random acts of kindness have been baking.  I know our kiddos love to share the love of baked goods.  They will change the world!

Being this little stars momma has been so much fun.

So thankful we opened our hearts.
