 thanks and bunny food

Can you tell she is not happy.  I think it's hilarious.  I asked her if she could sit in the cart and feed him so we could keep shopping.  It takes so much longer feeding a baby, pushing a cart and grocery shopping. This picture just cracks me up.  It was quite a scene getting her in the cart!

Teaching Abraham about reading.

Thank you for loving us.  The kids gift cards were a big hit with their little notebooks for budgeting.  They loved buying their own things at the grocery store.

We love us some bacon and eggs here at the Funk's.  Every Saturday morning this has been our go to breakfast.

Love finding these little love notes at the bottom of Odin's math.  I told him love notes to your wife someday will be a big plus!

Olivia's beautiful lunches..you would think she's a bunny or something.  (minus the milk and cheese)

She tried her hand at homemade granola bars which no one ate.  So guess who had to eat them?    She would bake all day if I let her but she doesn't eat half of what she makes.

Happy Wednesday!

Tough Break 2...
Olivia was complaining about her other wrist hurting a few days ago.  When we went in for the left arm they never really thought about ex raying the right arm because she didn't seem to show much pain.  After she mentioned it hurting the other day when she bumped it I thought we should take her in and get an ex ray on the other arm.  Low and behold that one was broke too.  Her wrist looked swollen but it was really hard to tell.  After the ex rays I kind of laughed and to be honest so did she.  She said really mom 2 casts?  She says, I'm totally getting it a different color.  She is a real trooper here and a tough cookie.

Writing is a tad hard for her but she doesn't complain.
Seriously this would only happen at the Funk's

Love Wins

“To love means loving the unlovable. To forgive means pardoning the unpardonable. Faith means believing the unbelievable. Hope means hoping when everything seems hopeless.”
― G.K. Chesterton

Today I’m thinking about the greatest gift ever given to me, you and the entire world.  He took on the sin of the world…He took on death…and won.  Love wins.  Always.  How humbling and amazing and incredible and I just will never grasp the magnitude of His love for me and you.  We don’t deserve it.  We’re ugly sinners and yet in Christ, we are new creations.  We are beautiful.  Loved.  Cherished.  Valued.  Redeemed.  Renewed.  Restored.  It absolutely floors me and I am beyond grateful.

We are so grateful for all of you and all of your love!

Have a wonderful Easter

Cheesey smiles and Abraham

This little star still only eats about 10 things.  Including sweets and chips.  Dave tried to get him to eat a piece of ham the other day and it took all of 5 minutes to choke this thing down.  Tears and gagging.  The whole darn scene.  He was trying to wash it down with water without chewing it.  He was a hot mess and it was seriously funny!

These 2 made pork chops for dinner the other night and they were great.  They weren't burnt and they all ended up in the pan. They love to help grill.

This is  why I love homeschooling...these moments are priceless..

These little stars are constantly grabbing my cameras and snapping away. (blurry but cute)  Love the fact that they were taking a picture of Abraham and got Gabe eating a sweet potato.

Spreading the love..

We scored a huge sale at the New Holstein Piggly Wiggly on baby food.  I got 30 jars for $3.40.  Love these kind of deals.

Have a great day!

Father and Daughter Ball

They love going to this every year. Olivia and Grandma Mimi picked out her dress and I spent the afternoon getting her hair done. They had a blast the last time they went together so they really looked forward to going. We missed going the last 2 years because of  Dave's cancer treatmentsSo this year was super exciting for her to be part of it again.  Candy Land was the theme this year and it looked awesome.  It would be really fun to decorate. They ate a nice dinner then danced and danced and danced some more. Yes, even Dave danced to make his daughter happy. There were some friends of ours from church there too so the girls had a blast. Livy had so much fun she cried the next day because it was over and she had to wait another year to go again.

Happy Tuesday Friends!

tough break
Well we started off our early spring true Funkhouser style.
Olivia was rollerblading the other day while the boys were grilling out and she fell in the driveway.  She just happened to land the wrong way this time she fell.  We sat on it for a few days just to see if the swelling would go down but it never did and she could barely use it.
She's a trooper and never complains.  I could tell she was in pain.  I took her in and the ex rays showed she broke her Radius bone so hard it hit the Ulna bone next to it and broke that also.  The ex ray looked like it hurt. They splinted it for a few days until we could see the orthopedic Dr. and then they put the cast on. She picked yellow and she was so excited.

We will go back in 4 weeks for ex rays then see how they look and see if they need to cast it again.  This is going to be one long summer if this is how we are starting out.

Happy Friday!
