Mayo part 2
The surgeon was top notch. We were talking football then he had me take a few breaths then I was completely out.
breathing tube inserted and surgery begins just like that.
I was unable to do an MRI so they only had a crappy ultrasound to go off of, from a previous doc that was very hard to read.
Once they got in there, they realized my uterus was larger then expected and my fibroid/tumor was bigger than they expected.
not a good surprise
not a good surprise
So the surgery took an extra hour or so.
They removed the tumor which was the size of a grapefruit and my uterus along with my tubes.
Ovaries stayed.
Since I had a healthy fibroid and tubes they wanted them for cancer research.
Just had to do a little bit of extra paperwork and sign my life away.

What a cool thing to be part of.
Came back to the ICU and they were trying to get my blood regulated since my blood pressure was crazy low and I was a 7.5 for blood count when I came in which they said was also really low.
we also needed to get that bladder working of mine.
I kind of just needed to retrain it!
I love how there's no shame in hospitals
seriously
that's my life
no shame
so many emotions through this all
finally went to the bathroom on my own
at 530 Friday
Dave and the kiddos came to say goodnight
Dave and the kiddos came to say goodnight
It was nice of the kiddos to come and hang out in bed with me. Olivia was such a great helper for Dave
didn't realize all the emotions that would come up with the little 2 when they saw me in the bed
Broke my heart to see them crying.
so many things going through their little heads.
Dave said poor Gabe cried his eyes out seeing me in the hospital. it was a long night for him with the kiddos calming their fears about losing their mommy
I thought maybe I'd sleep for a few hours but no...we worked on bladders and blood all night.
every 20 minutes they had me do a bladder ultrasound. Crazy fun
They let me do it myself and just print off the slip of paper they needed.

just what I wanted to do all night!
I loved how all the nurses talked life, kids, god, home school, passion for your kids, hope, faith, it didn't matter what time it was.
I figured god brought all these people in my life for one thing
him
him alone
as much as I was getting frustrated with my blood and bladder it was great talking with them all night.
By 730 Saturday things were looking up
I could pee on my own but it took me 20 minutes
i have never prayed for pee so much in my life
The lab lady came and went a few times during the night and things were looking up there too.
By 9 am I was good to go.
Checked out by 9:30 and we made the long drive home with many stops along the way for me to get out every hour to do a short walk. arm in arm with my husband just walking along a country road or a city sidewalk
I was so happy to get my bracelets back on..GOD left us one new one in the pool area too.
(the blessed one at the top)
(the blessed one at the top)
Thank you all for loving on me and my family!
