We always tell the kids to be aware

Awareness gives way to obedience.

open your eyes.  

Awareness is contagious really.  

You start looking for it.

  Like a house for sale or flowers you want to grow or a paint color that makes you happy.  

You'll see opportunities all around you.  

Do something with what you see, and don't beat yourself up for what you don't or can't see.

Remind yourself the sidewalk is a shared space, you could greet every stranger that passed by with a smile.
