We live in a society where everything is permissible, but nothing is forgivable.
Thankfully God's ways and thoughts are higher.  While God certainly sets a high bar, calling us to live like Jesus.  He knows we'll miss the mark repeatedly.  He's aware that our rock bottom moments open the door to His mercy.  His kindness when we least deserve it) or expect it) helps turn us away from our sin.

It convicts us in life changing ways.
God saves us as sinners, not as saints.
When your kids fail- walk with them through the fallout.  Remember how we are all just one bad decision away from stepping off that cliff.
The question is, how will I respond when my children mess up?

Your kids won't learn about mercy from a merciless world, so teach it at home.  Share the story of the prodigal son.  Emphasize God's grace.

Admit your mistakes and tell them how God carried you through them.  Criticize your kid's poor behavior and poor choices but not your kids as a person.

Ask how they'd handle the situation if they could do it over again and remind them that who their becoming matters more than who they've been in the past.
