something I'm trying... because why not

Trying to make this not too long here but want to document my progress/journey here since I've had a lot of you ask me about food and exercise in our family over all these years.

We love to help!😉
So...here goes..might be real raw and open here but you don't have to read it.
Click the X at the top of the page!

I have had a thyroid nodule since 2016 which I closely monitor and get checked out every year.
In 2017 I had 7 fine needle aspirations done on it which came back fine.

I swear I'm never doing that again if I can help it.
That was worse than having a baby or getting a hysterectomy.

I have always been into fitness/food/research(in a healthy way) since I was a wee one so I decided to take it up a notch on this one.

I went into meet my awesome Dr. in Madtown and let me tell you..he rocks
A homeschooling Christian (9 kids)dad with holes in his tennies is my kind of Dr.
We did our examine and my nodule grew a teeny tiny bit again.
It is now 4.4cm

So we talked about our choices and had to make a choice

Sooo through some serious prayer, counsel, more prayers we decided to try to nail this naturally.

Why not right.

My story might help someone else going through the same thing and want to try going against the grain and what the world tells you to do. We want to glorify God in all of this.

I was always one who was different, loved and had no care in the world.
I never really care(d) what others think or say to be honest.

We do our thing here at the Funks you be you😊

So I have a team of wonderful Dr./friends which they like to be called.. that are helping me and another great friend that is working with them as well but for Krohn's disease.

First off I got a thyroid panel done  which I do every 6 months normally but I also added a food allergy and dry urine test(which is way better anyways) to it this time.

It took about 3 weeks to get all my results in.  That
was almost 2 months ago.  Well Let's just say I should've done an allergy test 25 years ago!

Everything I ate my whole life I am allergic too.  Who knew.  Looking back now  I should've known.

Same thing for Odin but he has about half the allergies I do.  His issues he was having went away right away.  He had an allergy test many years ago though.

Since we've eaten plant based for many years now(probably 80/20) after Dave's cancer it's been great.  We cook all day and love most of the things we eat!
Lots of trial and errors in the kitchen but we have fun as a family doing it.  Teaching my kiddos life skills and creating wonderful relationships with them.

So I have added some herbs to my mix(that I was taking before) and I won't lie they are absolutely nasty but I'm getting use to them...I guess
We do not take any supplements in this family or any extra stuff.

We straight up make everything we eat by hand.
So it's a slow process but looking forward to this!
