I don't just make lists, I am that person, the one who adds a task to a list just to experience the satisfaction of crossing it off, the one who makes lists for my lists!
To know deep in my soul a good mother is one who acknowledges her need for the power of God to trust and teach and change the hearts of her children.
This is also what I want to know about being a wife, church member, community helper, and every other role I play-that the most important thing I can do each day is not to be good or rely on myself but to trust God and acknowledge my weakness. He will take my silly offering and turn it into a miracle.
This is what I need to know deep down in my soul.
The gospel of grace is for every single day.
We must allow him to break our obsession with goodness, and our obsession with goodness can only be broken by the gospel of god.
the gospel quiets the clamor and comparisons, the swirling online world, and the self accusations. It tells us to rest because Christ is enough, but it also leads us to respond to obedience when God asks things of us that are counter to what others and our own hearts tell us are important.
It also shows us how to receive from God what we need in order to truly live and what we need to serve others with joy, sacrificial love, and power.
