Haiti 2019

We just finalized our plans for next year for Haiti and we are suuuupppper excited.

So we will be Going July 26-August 3rd.  This time I will be taking Odin and Olivia.  We just started our fundraising and love every minute of it.  First fundraiser  will be a soup/cookie fundraiser at our church(Word of Grace) on December 16th after first and second service.

Cookies, pies, candy, fudge and soup of course.  Put it on your calendar and come on out and support a great cause!

Please pray for us and if you feel moved to help us go on this trip with a donation there are a couple of ways you can do it. You can contact me via email and I can send you a tax deductible form from our church or you can send a check directly to us which we can then turn into our church for credit to our account.

Please email me at funk50@charter.net if you have any questions.

Thank you so much for loving on us!

Few months in already

There are a couple days where the schedule feels like a juggling act but we're good.  Adjusting to everything.

Dave and I have always been morning people so we are up about 2 hours before them.
Our typical day (when I don't work...I got a job for a few hours a week)looks like this
kiddos up by 5/530ish ready to start their day.
The littles lounge around a bit but otherwise everyone dives right in so they can get done.

Odin is tackling world history this year..which he was waiting for.  Loves it!
He was able to tackle 8 full credits last year!!
Heart of Dakota is a strong reading curriculum. Odin is working 2 jobs saving for that car he wants and tackled Driver's Ed already.

Jonah is doing mission to modern marvels which includes American History, presidents study, Marie Curie, the elements, Albert Einstein, The Freedom Walkers, Eric Liddell, Gunner's Run and lots of other awesome books.  He loved playing football this year for the Kiel Raider team.

Olivia is doing Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Michael Faraday, Henry Ford, The Wright Brothers, Amos Fortune, Gabriel's Horse, Florence Nightingale, George Washington Carver.
Besides crafting there are always adventures every day with this girl.  She also played another year of volleyball with the Kiel Raider team.

Jeremiah is blessed by a friend to be going to Trinity Lutheran again this year.  It has completely helped him in all the ways I was struggling with him at home.  Night and day different.  Completely amazing.
Jeremiah is playing soccer and basketball for Trinity again this year.

Gabriel goes with Jeremiah to Trinity Lutheran as well.
We are so thankful for this huge blessing!
Full day Kindergarten is an eye opener though!
Long days and crabbiness when he gets home.  We are finally to the point of no tears.
He gives me about 10 hugs and kisses before I leave.
Love this!

Our littlest star Abraham is doing preschool 2 days a week at KCP.  Just like all the other kiddos did.  He is not sure about all this.  I have to peel him off of me every time.  A few times he cries so hard he vomits all over them.  Thankfully they are so good with him.  Once he gets going he's fine.
Quite an adjustment.

some days are so busy,(moving from one thing to another) often exhausting and crazy but also full of sweet little moments.  So thankful we have this privilege to home school.

dude kamp
Every year Dave takes the oldest boys tent camping for a weekend. They go target shooting, play football, fish, and hike. They listen to football games on the radio by the campfire. It's also a chance for Dave to spend direct time with the boys to talk about what it means to be a man. He teaches them about manners, respect, and serving others. The boys love it and nicknamed it "dude kamp". This year they went to Potawatomi State Park in Door County.

football and volleyball season are done for the school year but Olivia will be starting club volleyball up again soon....what happened I barely got any pictures.  It's so hard to watch the games and take pictures.  I hate to miss a play!

After 3 years of searching for just the right salt container..i finally found it..love it!

We always need more glasses...our little stars are always breaking them.  These little cups make me sooo happy!

Teaching them young about fantasy football.

Gabe has come home 3 times at lunch with an empty lunch box.  This is huge for this little star.  I put his regular food in there daily.  I always add 2 new foods on the side for him to try that he never eats.  Some days are harder than others to come up with ideas but he's doing great.

Last of fall camping at Point Beach.  Cold and lots of fun.  Cheesy smiles are always good.

Gabe did the pancakes.

Last time for Chubby Bunny..Odin won!

Grape tomato lover..

Excited to start having fires at home.  Unloading wood for the winter season.

Love everything about fall...enjoy your little stars and go spread the love to unkind people!
Get out of your comfort zone!
They need it most...

Happy 6th birthday Gabriel

What a joy this guy is.  If we would've never listened to the email from Michelle Duggar (the Dr. is their best friend) and prayed about getting a reverse vasectomy(Dave rocks)...
Gabe would never be here.
 God is good!

So glad we drove 13 hours(we had such a blast on the trip down) to Arkansas to get a reverse vasectomy.  I talk like I went under the knife!  Dave was such a trooper.  Totally rocked the surgery and the healing.   So glad we listened to God when he put this on our hearts even though it sounded insanely crazy and weird. Gabe is truly a miracle and we are so blessed to have him  in our lives

You love playing board games, playing outside, paw patrol, star wars, using your imagination with yard sticks, drawers, counter tops..pretty much anything you can put figurines on.

This is what he wanted for the cake.  Odin did the whole thing.

He has wanted a hula  hoop for a long time.  He was sooo excited!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes and for loving on Gabriel!
We love you!
