Therapy
Gabriel has been doing therapy for awhile now. My parents have been taking him because he seems to do better for them. It's been working out great. He actually looks forward to it now. He really really likes Ms. Lynn.
Some days it was like pulling your hair out just to get him dressed to get out the door. We are only allowed so many a year per insurance. We could always do more but this stuff is just so expensive. Not sure how people pay for this. We couldn't do it if it wasn't for my parents paying for it. We are so thankful they are able to help out in this way.
For those of you who have never heard of sensory issues let me tell you it's a whole new ball game. I found out the difficulties when our child wasn't quite in sync with the world. I learned the ins and outs of how our senses are an integral part of our day through the eyes of our child that struggled with things the rest of us take for granted. I could go on and on in this department but there's just so much to tell you regarding sensory processing.
Our therapist Lynn is awesome! There is only 1 here that is licensed in pediatric oral sensory processing otherwise we'd have to go to Children's Hospital which is an hour away. I'm thankful that she's close and she never gives up.
We have come a long way so far with him. He use to be a real stinker at therapy. Never wanting to participate and taking soooo long to come out of his shell. We spent more time getting him out from under the table than actually working on something.
He is beyond kissing and licking food now and has graduated to the stage of actually biting things....which can I say is Awesome!!!!
Big step
Huge step for this little star.
We will carry on and keep praying that this little star will eat more when the time is right. I won't give up for a million reasons.
He is healthy and strong.
We have a great doctor and therapist who support us through this loong and frustrating journey. We've tried an arsenal of tips, tricks and methods over the years-but ultimately it is all in his time.

“But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord, I say, my times are in your hands,'” Psalm 31:14
In this time, this struggle, I cling to that truth and hope.
His times are in His hands too.
