Lately....
Digging up slugs in the backyard

this little man likes to just chill out on anything

                                                              Look at  those juicy lips
We all can't get enough of him lately

Gabe is learning to play with mini figures and use his imagination

Ok, so the kiddos wanted to get wrapped up in a blanket with
duct tape and then try to get out.  Obviously they were not able to
get out.  They had a great time trying and even got a little frustrated.
                                                            We love silly strange FUN!

Odin's Picasso painting
When we study these artists the kids are amazed at how dark some of their lives are

Jeremiah's hair before a haircut

He wanted it off he said.... ..so this is what my mom did and he loves it!

Olivia looks kind of rough here.
She wanted to bake at like 5:15 in the morning and of course lick the bowl!

We had a good visit with Papa Paul
Gabe tried to bite him a few times at least just to make sure he would remember him
thanks for the memories and for all the goodies for the kiddos

Gabe is getting sassy with him
he is definitely getting a personality

this little dude is seriously tired and beat by Thursday
Going to full day Kindergarten is a lot.
He used to  nap 3 hours every day and now it's nothing
we are working through it but it is not enjoyable by any means!

Living life lately
homeschooling is awesome and I feel so blessed to be able to spend time with my kiddos
Haven't had time to write or even read a book in a long time
I can just about pee fast enough before Gabe comes down the hall looking for me but
I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I want to be the primary influence in their lives.
I want to be the one to hear the funny conversations they have with one another.
I want to be able to snuggle up with them any time of day to read a book.
I want to kiss and hug them whenever I want to.
I want to be the one training them what's right and wrong.
I want to be the one who they show their new tricks to.
I want to be there to stand up for them.
I want to be the one that disciplines and corrects their wrong behavior.

I thank the Lord every day that He has given me the desires of my heart.
To be a wife to my best friend and a stay at home mom to a house full of littles.
And let it be known that not every day is perfect.
Some days everyone is cranky... including me.
But on those days I remind myself that my time with them as little people is short.
I don't want to miss a single minute of it.
Because soon enough they'll be independent and wanting to go off on their own.
God is Awesome and we are so blessed!

baking binder

We started this last year but didn't really follow through with it.
So the kiddos have been asking to do it all summer
so we took a regular white binder we found at good will
added a few labels to it and made a spreadsheet for each kiddo
They have to bake 10 things
breads, muffins, desserts, dips, dinner items, cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes,
at least one of each category
 3 times
First time with mom doing it all and they are by my side
Second time they do it with me by their side
3rd time they do it all by themselves
Then once they do all the things on their whole spreadsheet they have to make us dinner all by themselves and serve it to us....

Odin made blueberry muffins because we had fresh blueberries but none of them like blueberry muffins so we ended up giving them to our neighbors
Jonah made chocolate Zucchini muffins and bread
Olivia and Miah made chocolate chip muffins which we always make
They also have to do the dishes after and clean up their mess
I forgot to take more pictures because it was like a baking marathon morning that day
Everyone did great  except for me
I never follow the recipe or measure so it was hard to teach them to do that!

this little big man just tried everything!

First week of school
We are done with the second week of school and it went great!
The Little's at public school had some tears, Olivia got a bad cold already, crabby attitudes, some tummy aches and I don't feel so goods(another word for I miss home) and Jeremiah got his head hit with a basketball  so hard it knocked him flat on the ground.
He was a little overwhelmed by the whole thing
These two both are so tired and crabby by the end of the week
of course if you ask them ....... they are never tired!

Odin and Jonah had fun too
They fight over who goes on the treadmill first and they start their day as soon as they wake up 5:30ish
Love this positive attitude stuff
hoping it stays that way
they are my listers just like me
they like to give it their all and get it done
they keep working most of the days and don't even eat breakfast until 9:00
they love everything
I hope it stays this good!
Odin is studying creation and he loves it
he is on fire for the bible
some of his questions I have to look up
I haven't got a clue!
this guy is always reading
everywhere including the potty

Jonah is reading George Rogers Clark, Ben & Me, and doing a lot of studying on Christopher Columbus
he is definitely a different learner than Odin
some of the reading is pretty heavy for him but I like to push him harder
We are also studying Bach for music and Picasso for Art
they are having a lot of fun together and Gabe adds the extra excitement!

the destoyer(Gabe) came and brought it down
and Miah was not liking that one bit

he was a little tired and passed out in his tent
this full day Kindergarten stuff is a lot on this man!

Life is good!

Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. . . Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
~ John 16:20, 22
My banner of fun!
I took all of my old fabric scraps and decided to make a 200 square feet banner that we could bring camping and hang around our site.
It took some good hours of work

this little guy kept messing with my fabric pile

It turned out great and the kiddos loved it!

I could make fabric banner for everything in my house...we love them!

love my kiddos
this little big man is getting big
his brothers and sisters are having so much fun with him
I am so glad they still argue over him

he loves to sit next to these pillows and relax
                                                             I think it's a corner thing
he backs himself up into any corner and sits there

he is one happy guy most of the time

Jonah wanted to take piano lessons and we have no piano so I wasn't
sure how this was going to work, besides lessons are expensive and I am a momma who likes to hang with my family instead of running them to classes and such. So we prayed about finding a keyboard at a rummage sale or goodwill or something just to try it first to see if he would even like it.  Low and behold we found a brand spanking new $200 key board from another home school momma for FREE..  Whoa God is good and we were so excited!  They were such a sweet family!  Olivia was rocking out...

                                                        love those bubble gum kicks!

                                                                    this guy rocks

ok, my kiddos are so done with summer and excited for the snow
they decided to have an indoor snowball fight with hundreds of crumbled up paper and give each other Christmas gifts wrapped and all.  I love when they trade their stuff with each other.
                                                                   We had a blast!

Olivia is playing Christmas music for us!

this girl has got it

Have a great day!

Our little UPS man

is off his training wheels

Can you feel the excitement from his siblings?
The only problem is that when he rides his bike now

Lots of crashes and road rash headed our way..

Back to school(full time) we go.....

It is always sad for  me too send the other 2 littles away from momma all day
I somehow can have the patience for 10 loud and crazy kids at my house but I don't think I have the patience to teach them so young yet.
Maybe by the time I get to Gabe....MAYBE

I love home schooling
and this year we have Jonah with us
so it will be Odin, Jonah and Gabe home with me.
I schooled all the kiddos all summer with math.
Once Olivia saw me doing math with the boys she wanted in.
  Jeremiah another story...
That's just say Kindergarten will be interesting for him.
He really doesn't care to write or do anything school right now
he is seriously funny though..

Odin will be going into 5th grade
we are doing the Creation to Christ curriculum from Heart of Dakota
www.heartofdakota.com
I cannot say enough about this curriculum
love love love it!
Then for math we do Saxon and love this as well.
We did add a typing program but have not tried it yet.
So I will let you know how it is once we get into it.

Jonah will be in 3rd grade and doing
Bigger Hearts for His glory
through Heart of Dakota as well.
He is super excited and also wanted to start this summer.
love how they are so excited to learn and they love to read
these two are excited to be together this year

forgot to get a picture...bad momma

Olivia will be in the 2nd grade at the public school
she is super excited
can you tell by her outfit she picked out
I love this girl
she totally takes after me with her spunk

Jeremiah will be in full day Kindergarten
he is excited but a little unsure yet

We had our traditional ice cream sundaes for breakfast this morning as well
that is right..fill them up with sugar so they can pass out in a few hours

hope you all had a great first day!
