Happy Easter!

Go and make disciples of all nations...And you can be sure that I am always with  you to the very end...

Matthew 28:19-20
We have 5 sick kiddos still.
It has been a long week
lots of boogers, blowing, sneezing
and puking
This whole 9 years that I have been parenting, I have  never  had a time like this, where  every one of our kidddos needs medicine .
It was kind of funny

Off to our community outreach today in Sheboygan Falls
starts at 12:00
 13,000 eggs to find
bounce houses
and free food for the kiddos
Hope to see you there!

Thank you for all the prayers and birthday wishes  too.
If you know me I am not a birthday fan when it's my birthday!

Wishing my dad a happy birthday tomm!

Love to you all!

my thoughts on Victoria secret

As my kiddos are getting bigger I realized how much they like getting the mail
We have always got a lot of magazines...somehow
I have cancelled so many but they just keep coming
Most of them I just put right into the garbage without even entering our home
One magazine in particular
Victoria Secret
These magazines were really starting to bother me
My kiddos were totally appalled with what was on the cover when they would reach for the mail
My boys are the ones who usually get the mail
they kept coming up and asking why they do this and don't they know this is inappropriate
I love their little innocence...
this new line for preteens they are coming out with is just so sad.
I believe that this sends the wrong message to not only my daughter but to all young girls.
I don’t want my daughter to ever think that her self-worth and acceptance by others is based on the choice of her undergarments. I don’t want my daughter to ever think that to be popular or even attractive she has to have emblazon words on her bottom.
I want my daughter (and every girl) to be faced with tough decisions in her formative years of adolescence. Decisions like should I be a doctor or a lawyer? Should I raise awareness for slave trafficking or lack of water in developing nations? There are many, many more questions that all young women should be asking themselves… not will a boy like me if I wear a “call me” thong?
I want my daughter to know that she is perfect the way she is; I want my daughter to know that no matter what underwear she is wearing it does not define her.
I believe that this new line “Bright Young Things” thwarts the efforts of empowering young women in this country. “Bright Young Things” gives off the message that women are sex objects. This new line promotes it at a dangerously young age.
I have written them an email but to say the least they really don't care
Their profits are way more important than little girls self worth.

 Jill Savage
"Living with less so your family has more"

*with less stress, money and activities you will have more peace, patience, kindness, joy, more available, more energy for parenting and your marriage

*Remember as a Christian you will be swimming upstream.  You are living for God not your friends, neighbors or family

*The opposite of poverty is enough

*Don't get caught up in the comparison trap

*simplicity

*Remember it will take a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction-God's direction

5 contentment principles

Live beyond the temporary

Grow a thankful heart

Learn to give

Live within your means

Accept your circumstances

Kathy Lipp

"Get yourself Organized Project"

Kathi Lipp

I knew she was my kind of girl when she opened with this question ....
Are you the kind of person that makes a list and then you do something that is not on your list and then add it to your list just to cross it off...
totally me
I love lists and so do my kiddos
they tend to make their own lists off of my lists

she really focused on comparing your house to the ones in a magazine and  friends houses

Satan's lies will keep you from being effective.

she was really funny to listen to

Sherry Schuratt
"7 habits of highly effective moms"

Sherry Surratt
*there is no perfect

*great moms don't happen on accident

*they put themselves first when it comes to spiritual development

*keep your sense of humor

*pay attention to who you are in God

I will be making a plan to bring a bunch of ladies next year.

It was so awesome!!!

And my kiddos survived!!!

*Men's dials are all on the inside and women's dials are all on the outside.
*Women buil up all these ideas and assumptions and most of them are wronging

Women are verbal processors-talk things through
Men are internal processors-they sit and think on things

*Guys are more sensitive to what we say thank we think they are

*Guys need to know they are appreciated

*Men will parent differently than we do

*Women nurture and protect/Men are designed to let them go and fly

Keep praying for Gabe he is teething something fierce
I think I want him to wake up with at least 5 teeth in his mouth one of these mornings.
He is still getting up at least 6 times a night
it takes him about 15-20 minutes to fall asleep then....

we decided to decorate him a little
he is a true blessing and so much
JOY

Thank you so much!
Blessings fro the Funks!

What a conference....

part 1

I have never been to Hearts at Home before, I have always wanted to go but just couldn't find anybody to go with.
So this year I went with a friend
I plan on going every year after
my goodness was it awesome.
I will break it all down in parts for you because all the speakers I heard rocked and I learned a ton of valuable information for what we mommas go through
I wasn't prepared to learn so much and come home with such awesome ideas and such conviction
Laughing so hard one minute...the lady next to me actually asked me if I ever leaked or peed my pants after I had so many kiddos
it was too funny....love that we moms can be real

God showed up in so many ways and I met so many wonderful ladies walking through all sorts of different journeys and adventures.

I am so thankful for my husband watching the kiddos as well
they are all alive and had good time with daddy
and now if we could get the little man to sleep
he is teething something fierce
he is up anywhere from 5-9 times a night

(his little ear sticks out so much from being folded over when we feed him)
duct tape should do the trick

Jill Savage

 jill200

*Giving yourself and other people(your husband) the freedom to fail or make mistakes

*Failure will always be a part of life

*Celebrating your husband for who he is instead of who he isn't

*Embracing imperfection

*Take off your mask and be real

*Turning your messes into your message

Jill Savage also rocked it out with Anita Renfroe
they did the Muthahood song together

renfroe200

If you haven't seen Anita do stand up
she is hilarious
My cheeks hurt from laughing so hard
I would love to have her come over for dinner sometime...

Lynn Cowell

 Lynn Cowell

was next talking about wiser women...wiser daughters

*Girls just want to be wanted

*Girls confidence needs to be based on Christ not others or the world

*The world tells girls and women that they are only valuable with a guy, not Jesus

*Man's rejection is God's Protection
(love that)

*Teach them to have a good friend that loves the Lord

*God wants all of them.  His love never changes.  He completes her

*She will always be different and swimming upstream because she believes in JESUS!

 Dana Blomberg

Loving your husband towards Christ

blomberg200

*His leadership as a husband/dad needs to come from the Lord

*Instead of biting your husbands head off about something, zip it and go to the Lord
(that is a hard one for us...right ladies)

*Loving him when he's not being a hero

*Your the #1 minister to your husband

back soon with Part 2
seriously please pray for Gabe to sleep better and get some teeth
I think I am living on caffeine fumes over here!

seeing joy

sometimes I have those days where I get crabby and am over tired
where I just need to keep talking to God and keep asking for his grace to cover me
it always seems like I have to take a step back on those days
seeing joy in the midst of life
sometimes I feel like you wait on things to change and before you know it you missed out on so many moments of joy.
living intentionally and seeking joy
throughout your day
joy cannot be bought
it simply is a choice

my grocery lists brings me so much joy

I love the fact that every week when I make one
some one has taken the time to write something on there about what they need, something funny or just a simple I love you
totally makes me smile and brings joy to this mamas heart

watching 2 kids constantly pester each other and then they are asking to bake together the next minute

there is always mundane things that will need to be done
everyday I make a to do list
because I am a list kind of person

like laundry
a drawer to be organized,
bathrooms to be deep cleaned, dusting
toys picked up..... you name it

motherhood is about managing the always need to be done things with the items that we should really be doing
like reading a book to my 5 year old
laying with them in bed at night when I really just want to go in my own bed and go to sleep
playing a game of jenga with my 7 year old.
letting them use glitter and make a mess
just sitting on the couch and talking
playing legos with them when I could be reading my own book
having a chocolate milkshake for breakfast
just because......

this was over 2 hours of entertainment for Gabe
Olivia and Miah decided to use the old streamers on a sword and just keep swinging them around and around.
I was getting annoyed with it after 10 minutes but they continued until he was ready for a nap 2 hours later.

we choose to spend most of our time together as a family and  say no to other things
because I know this time will pass and tomorrow means another page turned and another moment passed
motherhood is such a gift
and children are an amazing blessing
don't miss motherhood!

randomness

Love me some sleeping babes
makes for happier kids later on

We got some Lincoln Logs for a gift and the kiddos love creating with them

Adoption Update
We have had to update our home study this last month
we are not sure which way we are going or what we are going to do
waiting for the Lord to lead us since we lost the majority of the money we raised for the past 3 years on the last 2 failed adoptions
It's like starting over.....

We are still kicking away at the fundraising
on  the side bar with
 ordinary hero
147 million orphans and
jubilees jewels
just click on the pictures
go shopping and support us on our journey

we will also be having our annual rummage sale in May this year but it will be the weekend before the city wide rummage

If you have any donations you would like to donate to the rummage we greatly appreciate them
All proceeds will go directly into our adoption/mission account.
I am also still making my funky buns and other random crafty things

(Rachel I cannot thank you enough for all your baby devices)

We are so thankful for all of you that have supported us.
We are truly blessed!

Our little miracle

In the fall of 2011 I had a visitor come across my blog with 19 kids and counting
she had decided to email me asking if my husband was fixed or not
I thought that was an interesting question to ask someone
We had exchanged emails talking about our failed adoption from the year prior and my love for children and how I wanted more
So she says to me, I have a good friend who does reverse vasectomies as a ministry
really, that's great I said
she sent me his name and info and I told her I would pray about this and see where God leads us.
I thanked her and sat on this for a minute
this is totally weird but I kept thinking
so I continued to pray by myself about this for 2 months or so until I said something to Dave
I really wasn't thinking about being pregnant again
even though I had great pregnancies and very easy labors
I loved being pregnant and of course I loved eating for 2
I took the eating for 2 seriously
you only live once and it's something you'll never forget
I had contacted the Dr in Arkansas and got to know one of the workers there very well.  she had prayed for us and helped us in any way possible
such a sweet lady
then I really felt God put this on my heart that this is something we need to do
Dave wasn't too sure about this but I was feeling the Lord move on this
So we set the date for February
We split the kiddos up and took off on our road trip to Arkansas
I had brought along plenty of CD's from my favorite church in South Carolina
Pastor Steven Furtick rocks
they did a 12 day revival and it was awesome
Dave and I kept looking at each other like as we drove straight through from Wisconsin to Arkansas saying I can't believe we are doing this kind of thing
13 hours there on a Thursday
got to the hotel and checked in
Had a good nights sleep...I did anyway
Dave was having horrible dreams
Satan was hard at work on him during the night
I knew inside that everything was going to be ok and this is what we were supposed to do
I knew God was not through giving us children
 Got up and
I was super excited and Dave was nervous
had a light breakfast and went to his office to finally meet the Doc and this wonderful lady I had been conversing with
The Doc went over the procedure with us  and prayed with us
then he started  and I waited and prayed in the waiting room
Dave was out in about an hour and a half

Went to get some medicine and wet back to the hotel and Dave rested all day
I visited the local thrift stores there for fun and we watched storage wars
never saw that before
we don't have cable and so it was fun to watch

Left the next day and drove home in 13 hours
we were laughing on the way home and having fun
we still could not believe what we just did

Waited on the Lord and 4 weeks after the surgery I was pregnant with #5
On November 2, 2013  Gabriel Eugene was our miracle baby.
He was such a gift that the Lord had gave to us.
We praise God!

What could you be missing out on or who are you  missing out on?

If you are considering having a vasectomy reversal or just want some more info about it please email me at funk50@charter.net

I have lots of  information I would love to share.
