beautiful weather
on one of the nice days last week we took the kiddos to the beach in Milwaukee
and they loved it.
these 2 battled most of the time

and these 2 were crazy enough to go in

it was freezing but they didn't care
they were rolling all over in the sand and having a blast

those are the stairs that about killed me
i went up and down them 2 times in a row and I could barely breathe!
Have a wonderful Friday!

scrambled some eggs
poured the eggs on top
put 2 cups or shredded Cheddar cheese
and added some leftover cubed ham I had in the fridge
and cooked for 10 more minutes

no news
nothing new on the adoption front still
still waiting to be matched
it's been very quiet here
with just a lot of prayer going on

  • Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him. Psal 37:7

                                           cereal family

everyone in our family loves cereal except for Olivia
the only grains or bread she eats is noodles
we love the simple stuff like rice krispies, honey nut cheerios and raisen bran
sometimes we eat it for breakfast but other times we may eat it for lunch, dinner or a late night snack
there's always something to say about cold milk and crispy cereal
Dave can sit down and eat one box at a time
Can't wait too see how much cereal they will be eating in high school...
i know, check out Odin's long hair.......

`

enjoying these summer days we are having here
we have been playing
 kickball
basketball
hockey on the concrete
sidewalk chalk
picnics outside
staying up way to late on a school night
sweaty bodies before bed
going to the parks
(can I say, I cannot believe all these teeny boppers that go to the park and make out)
I think I'm still living in a different time period
I am not into all these things that go on nowadays
the kiddos ask a  ton of questions about everything
and sometimes I feel like I am probably way to open but I don't candy coat things and I love being real with them
I have been organizing, cleaning our basement and pricing rummage things.
It will be the same time in May
I will post about it when it gets closer
Thanks for all your prayers and enjoy the sunshine!

reading

everyone in our family loves to read.
we have found this amazing  program online that I wanted to share with you all.
It is called www.paperbackswap.com
once your done with your old books
-gather them together
-start a new account
-start entering in their ISBN numbers into the computer
they are usually found on all the backs of the books
-then once your done getting them all loaded
you make your own wish list of books you want for you and your kiddos
then every time you send out a book you get a credit
then when a book from your wish list becomes available you get that one
all books take one credit
and you just have to pay the shipping which they easily help you with that
print the labels and go to the post office and your done
you also have the option of mailing right from your home too.
i have never paid more than $2.50 to mail a big book
i have a hard time finding the books we want at rummage sales and this way I get all the books we want
it's really cool getting to know people from all over the world too.
hope you go and check it out!

feeling beautiful
the other day when I was walking into Walmart
to pick up a few things
this little lady about 4 feet tall in her 50's came right up to me and grabs my arm and says
"You look really cute today"
I was taken back at the comment
Really
it's funny how we look at our selves and
if your like me I always struggle to accept a compliment.
when you look in the mirror do you see what others see?
Our own perception of ourselves is often clouded by emotions, experiences and self-evaluations. We forget we are actually seeing ourselves backwards.
Our left is really our right and vice versa. We also notice every little flaw, magnified. Is that what we are reflecting? We pray people won’t see our natural face.
Have you ever seen a photograph of yourself and thought, “Do I really look like that?” I have.
Christ calls us to mirror Him. When people see us, they are to see His light shining through us in spite of our flaws. That is, if we are doers of the Word not merely listeners. When we do God’s will, we should see ourselves differently because we are projecting Him to the world. He’ll always present us in the best Light –
 His own.

But, if we try to plaster over our flaws and not let others see us and what He is doing in our lives, when we try to cover up everything, we no longer trust Him to present us to the world the way He wishes.
We appear fake.
Not to say we should not strive to look our best. Of course we should. But no matter how good we try to look to others, if we don’t have Christ shining through our countenance, we’ll never look our best. Why? Because He is the best. We will not see Him mirrored in us and neither will others. We’ll walk away and go about our business trying to impress the world, and perhaps ourselves. We’ll forget that we are beautiful in His sight, and therefore, attractive to the world
God calls women beautiful; He is enthralled with their beauty.
I am telling you that the God of Heaven and earth is wild about you!
He's consumed, He's so taken with you!
Let Him
make you captivating.

                                           Feels like Spring
after church yesterday we got down the bikes
set up all the swing set stuff
got out the sand box toys
laid a blanket on the grass
took bike rides around the block
played kickball and baseball
wrote with sidewalk chalk
sat in lawn chairs in the sun watching the kiddos play
it's amazing how good it feels to just have the kiddos run around outside having fun and hearing their laughter
thanking God for this beautiful spring weather

we have a lot on our plate right now(exciting things) and we can't quite share all the details but you better believe I will as soon as I can because I believe God will continue to show up in amazing ways that must be told!  So while we are in the midst of an amazing God time, you wouldn't be surprised to know that it is also a major time for attack and negativity from the enemy.
Somehow and someway he finds just the right time and opportunity to build himself a little foothold in our lives and one it's there it's like chipping away at concrete and steel to get rid of it. Please keep us in your prayers!
Thank you so much!

he took some
 clips
felt
embroydery floss
cotton balls
hot glue and buttons

he cut out the shape he wanted
sewed it together
left a little opening and added some cotton in there and then sewed it shut.
glued a button with hot glue and there you go.
he had a blast making them

God's promise

God is giving us his promise when he knows it's impossible
and I'm tending to think that god's waiting until we get to a place where it's totally impossible
so that we never take the credit and that
we will always know that it's Jesus

god cannot move where there is doubt and fear

genesis 18:12
So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, "After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure

is anything to hard for the lord?
god curing cancer
rerouting an airplane
birthing a child at Sarah's age
is anything to hard for god at the appointed time?
not our due date.
Sarah was past the due date

I see people  do this all the time...
I'll give my wife this much time to change.
if this doesn't change I am out of here,
I'm going to do that  next week,
if they don't give me a raise I am going to quit

secretly we have a due date
it's  amazing what we will do
because we don't understand
when we think nothings going on....
  god is preparing us
for the thing that he already prepared for us....

if what you see is all you see you will never see
what God wants you to see

2 peter 3:8
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

god doesn't see things how we see them
stay faithful that god will be faithful
god is true to his word from generation to generation to come

learning to trust god
in due season we will reap and grow weary
you just put an expiration date on something god never had an expiration date on
god doesn't do this in our timing

Isaiah 55:9
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts

there is an inconceivable
 gap
the gap between us and god is infinitely huge that it is incomparable

would you trust god even when you don't understand
do you trust that he is good
and does good even when that's not what's going on around you
what do you really believe about god and his nature
when bad things happen god is still a good god
he is able to turn things around for good
all things
god is able to turn them around
what the enemy meant for evil
god had turned it around
worked it together for good
used it to save me and others lives
and the devil wishes he would've never left us alone
that's what god does
he is a good god
bad things happen to good people but it never changes the character of god
when things aren't good you'll try to do things with your own hands that only god can do

genesis 16:2

so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her." Abram agreed to what Sarai said.

when you try to start prematurely and make something happen in your own strength
you will give birth to Ishmael in your own life
I can make this happen
I can fix this
I can compromise
I I I
then you end up with an Ishmael
there is still an Isaac in your future
god has a huge future beyond your past
god isn't always going to do it your way
he who promised is faithful
there is no promise for god to hard to fulfill
there is no prayer to hard for god to answer
there is no problem to hard to answer
there is no disease to hard for god to heal
there is nothing
our god cannot do
