paper table
Olivia wanted to know what it was like to have a paper table
then she decided she could paint the paper whatever she wanted
Miah decided he would try eating breakfast at it.
2 little goofballs
I love their imaginations

bubble wrap
Our kids love this stuff
 and secretly we do too
it's something for our hands to do while we are sitting
I am one of those who has a hard time sitting or I fall asleep
I need to be doing something most of the time
I think I need to learn how to knit or whatever that is called
with the 2 needles while you sit.
then I could be productive

Jeremiah

the kids always ask us if we can have more kids like Jeremiah
they really just mean anybody under 3
that's silly and fun
they love this age
and so do we
I love that they have so much love in their hearts
My dad is doing great, the kids know he will not be working for awhile so they ask him to come over every day,
I am thinking we are driving my parents crazy with the noise level in our house sometimes!
Thanks again for all the prayers!

Teacher's gifts...finally
Boy this was very time consuming
(6 teachers) but very fun to do

a friend had the idea we just changed some things around a bit
We  spray painted some jars
made some fabric flowers(I have a ton of leftover fabric scraps) with the kiddos(lots of hot glue and burnt fingers)
spray painted some frames we found at rummages and goodwill
put everything together in a bowl with some homemade toffee/chocolate chip brownies and we have this!

Praise the Lord
My dad is home!
He was able to come home with restrictions
but we couldn't be happier.
He feels good, looks good and the kids are so excited!
The story...
We have gone camping with friends over Father's Day weekend every year, to a place not far from home
Fon Du Lac KOA
Simple, cheap campground that has a pool and a jumping pillow
Hands down they all love the jumping pillow
I love it!
It rocks!
If you want one at your house it only costs $6,000
I was trying to do this
but my legs don' t straighten like Gracie's
back to the story here..
We were at the pillow and my parents drove by us in their car not waving or anything
we just thought they were going out for dinner
Then my mom called about 1 hour later saying that they were in the hospital and my dad had a heart attack.
Apparently, he was going to the bathroom at the campground and starting sweating profusely and got real nauseated
He came back to the camper and said he thinks he should go to the hospital, which is a lot for my dad to say.
So they got their in about 11 minutes
He had real bad chest pain every once in awhile and lots of sweating and nausea on the way
So they skipped a bunch of things and they did the angioplasty right away and saw he was at the tail end of a heart attack
The Doctor said you just made it in time, you wouldn't be here if you didn't move so fast.
Then put the stint in the main artery that was 100%blocked then and we could go and see him about 3 hours after they got there.
Wow!
So emotional, you just never think this kind of thing is going to happen to someone you love.
My dad has never been in the hospital so this was huge for him
Scared and nervous is what he felt
he is not much of a communicator but has a heart of gold
My first look at him in the ICU just broke my heart and I started to cry
Thank you for my friend Shannon that took me there to meet my mom and help out, I couldn't of done it without you.
My mom was emotionless and I think in a state of shock
The Dr. came in that put the main stint in and showed us all the pictures and talked to us about what they wanted to do next.
She was for the quadruple bypass surgery but the other 2 surgeons were not.
So we hung out with him for awhile and prayed over him and shed a lot of tears, tears that needed to be shed from my dad as well.
talked about life and the value of it
and how he has such a testimony
discussed some options for them do he wouldn't have to work so much
his choice is to work 15-17 hours every day
we would like him to be around more and spend more time with the kiddos and enjoy life more.
he has lots of appointments and rehab to do for now
and I am not sure when he will go back to work.
we are all so excited to have him home and the kids
jumped for joy when they saw him walk through the door last last night.
they wondered if they were still going to get papas chocolates
(dove little dark chocolates)
Thank you again for all your prayers and help!
We serve an awesome God!
His perfect love casts out all fears and leaves only thanks!

 Answered Prayers
Thank you all so much for your prayers.
my dad is doing good
all the surgeons decided to do 4 more stints yesterday  instead of doing the open heart surgery and hoping that will work  long term.
So he had 5 stints total and he should be coming home tomm.
We just got home as well with our camper
and my mom drove their camper(mini bus) home and I drove my dad's car home
It was quite a sight to see my mom drive their motor home
she never has and my dad was so nervous for her.
thanks again for all the prayers
and I'll post more again on the story when we get situated
Lots of love from the Funkhousers!

Happy Father's Day to all the Daddy's out there!
We are in the hospital still
waiting on what to do
my battery is almost all gone so this will be short
the 3 surgeons do not know what they are going to do yet
because my father's case is a bit complicated they say
He feels great with no other symptoms,
yet their is so much blockage and things to worry about if they don't do the open heart surgery
One Dr. didn't like the kind of stint put into the main artery
one wants to do the open heart
one wants to put 3 stints in the other 3  arteries
so they are sticking their heads together to see what is best for him.
they did discover that at some time he must of had a hear attack on the right side of his heart and the arteries just re routed and made it all work out on it's own
So we wait some more and see what they decide
Meanwhile we are playing go fish, pictureka, and wig out in his hospital room keeping him company.
The kiddos think this is kind of fun!
This is way out of my dad's comfort zone
poor guy has never been in a hospital for himself
I will keep you updated
 thank you for the prayers!

WE NEED PRAYERS
We are out of town right now camping with my parents and friends.
My dad had a heart attack later last night
He has 3 arteries with 90% blockage and 1 with 100% blockage
Healthy guy, never smoked, no Diabetes
total surprise
they have a stint put in right now and
we are waiting for the surgeon right now and he will have open heart surgery
thanks for your prayers and I will keep you updated
the Dr. said he was a lucky man to get here as fast as he did!
Lots of Love

chores
my children love chores
we do something every day whether it be
dusting, sweeping, folding laundry, dishes
they know it's part of being in the family and helping out
It's nice for Dave and I  that is about the only time of day that
we  have a few minutes to hang out and chit chat while they are doing stuff!
I run out of ideas for them to do sometimes
so if you have any other chore ideas send them our way please
We are blessed with such wonderful little helpers!

Chocolate Fest
Thank you mom and dad for treating us to Chocolate Fest in Burlington, WI
It was fun!
Lots of food and sweet goodies to eat.
                                Chipping away at the chocolate
trying to find a shiny gem

                               Decorating your own cookies

Candy bingo brought us 2 free t-shirts
 We had a blast
It was a wonderful gift but honestly
I cannot believe how much money carnivals cost a family.
